Selective Programs

What are selective programs? These are programs that have specialized themes, performances, and professional artists branding experiences. Including but not limited to touring, studio recording, photoshoots, access to guest speakers and masterclasses.  This programming is solely based on metrics through juries, auditions and musicianship of previous showcases.

Rock, Paper Jazz!

Wednesday’s 5-7 P.M.  Begins Feb 7th - August

These two genres influence each other more than people think. We’re taking Prog Rock and some advanced Jazz with Standards and stirring them in a pot that will bring to you a musical stew!  There are current plans to take these musicians on tour out of state. (Can someone say New Orleans?) Did we mention? The students will write a few original songs and they will be submitted into competitions.

Riot Grrrl

Saturday's 12-2 P.M. Begins Feb 10th- August

Riot Grrrl is a movement that started in the early 1990’s in the Pacific Northwest. The movement was created to encourage women and girls to express themselves, accept themselves, and accept each other no matter the difference. This movement quickly spread across countries inspiring women and girls to come together and fight for equality through the expression of music. This is a fight that still lives on! Expect the following artists: The Go-Go's, Selena, No Doubt, Joan Jett and so many more.
